Biography

Kathleen E. Adam has been painting in oils for 33 years and painting professionally for 13 years. She has exhibited nationally from California to Massachusetts to Louisiana in juried art shows frequently receiving awards. She has shown in the Cleveland Museum of Art‘s May Show, the Butler Institute of American Art‘s Midyear, the Palm Springs Desert Museum‘s National Annual, the Grand National in New York City and many others. Her work is in the permanent collection of the United States Coast Guard in Washington, D.C., Cigna Employee Benefits Companies, KeyBank, Teledyne Efficient Industries and many private collections. Kathleen is a fellow member of the American Artists Professional League, a member of the American Society of Portrait Artists, and a founding board member of the Western Reserve Artist Association.

Kathleen was in charge of the Strong Museum carousel renovation while working at Carousel Magic!. She painted the scenery on the rounding boards and the upper surrounds, designed and carved the chariot and the figureheads on the shields and designed the decorative painting. The carousel, an Allan Herschell built in 1918, opened to the public in November, 1997.

Currently Kathleen is working as Special Projects Manager at the Merry-Go-Round Museum in Sandusky, Ohio.
